 - Slovenski sinopsis

 - English summary

Frantisek Ladislav Celakovsk was the first Czech to study Slovene literature in a systematic way, to evaluate it critically and to translate it. The article analyses his correspondence with Preseren and his essay Krajinská literatura (in Casopis ceského Musem VI (1832), 443-454). It discusses the reception of Celakovsk's text among Slovene readers and the attitude of Krajinská literatura and Celakovsk's aesthetic orientation in it towards Preseren's aesthetic paradigm. With this text Celakovsk intervened in Slovene literary production by defending Preseren's aesthetic orientation and with it the type of Slovene literature that did not pursue a pragmatic goal but wanted only to meet aesthetic criteria and that is today characterised by extensive diversification in ideas, subject-matter, genre and expression.
