The monograph V sotočju Bistrice in Mošenika (At the Confluence of the Bistrica and the Mošenik), published at the five hundredth anniversary of Tržič, contains one hundred octaves written by Tone Pretnar in which he described his birth place and joined the geographical and culturological descriptions of the place and its surroundings with social and characterological ones. However, this is not only about the description of natural beauties, sacred objects and almost forgotten costoms. Psychological and sociological descriptions from a subtle and individualized poetic image.

English summary

The article is based on the analysis of the author's contribution to the book with which the town of Tržič marked its five hundredth anniversary (V sotočju Bistrice in Mošenika, 1992). This book contains one hundred photographs together with the same number of octaves, which were contributed by Tone Pretnar. They give a very compact and complex psycho- and sociogram of Tržič with its surroundings, and Pretnar included in them also the elements of his own personality. He did this so much easier, because his home in a narrow and broad significance of the word was at stake in this concrete task. He joined both in the notion of home and thus created and individualized the poetic image of his birth place. A poetic creation confirms the truth that a sensitive person during all his life carries with himself a part of sky, the one he remembered when he first consciously started to exist in this world. Pretnar succeeded in doing what he had originally intended to achieve, he wanted to link ?with an invisible thread childhood that elapsed among the mountains and the future time which is dawning form above the peaks? The desired link is thus realized on the level of the history of Tržič as well as on the level of the poet's deepest feelings and mental awareness.
